Wireless Power Solution Qi-ativity Award

2 Jan 2013

Creative engineering is as important for applying new technologies and coming up with new applications as it is technical knowledge. Especially to interest and inspire others, a creative approach makes it more appealing finding out more about something new.

We are proud to hand-over the Qi-ativity Award to Victor Sluiter for his great achievements in the field of wireless power technologies and for his creativity within the given constraints. Victor demonstrated the capabilities of wireless charging by liberating his son´s toys from their cords. From the Qi-train to the Qi-huahua, Victor was able to charge anything, everywhere. He truly integrated the Qi-standard into our daily lives with great creativity and lots of entertainment.

As Victor highlighted how much fun it is to get rid of your cables, he received a new Lego train in reward for his effort.

Thanks to all for pushing this to the next level....let´s see what 2013 holds for Wireless Power Technology.

On a wireless-related note, I found that wireless charging is very child-friendly; how many 4-year-olds can open a battery hatch and remove all batteries and place them in a charger? Very few. And how many can place their toy on a charging mat (especially when it's disguised as a Qihuahua)? Most of them!

    Thanks Wuerth!
