Vishay Intertechnology today introduced a new series of solid tantalum chip capacitors for pulsed operation in wireless modems. The 592W devices feature what is said to be industry-high capacitance of 330 µF to 2200 µF over a voltage range of 6.3 V to 10 V. The parts are available in three case sizes and offer profiles of 1.6 mm and 2.0 mm.
The capacitors are offered in the C (7.1 mm by 3.2 mm), M (7.5 mm by 6.3 mm), and X (14.5 mm by 7.37 mm) case codes. They include what is claimed to be the first such device to feature a capacitance of 750 µF at 10 V in the M case.
The RoHS-compliant capacitors feature an operating temperature range of - 55 °C to + 125 °C (with voltage derating) and ± 20 % standard capacitance tolerance.
