Software Defined Radio (SDR) resources?

fustini
fustini over 11 years ago

I recently gave a Software Defined Radio presentation at my hackerspace.  I've attached my slides.  I also have gallery and video playlist.

Is there other SDR technologies (hardware or software) that I should have included?

I demonstrated using DVB-T USB adapter as SDR receiver.  I would be interested in getting something that could transmit too if the solution isn't too expensive.

Thanks!

Drew

Hi Drew! Your motivation for your SDR projects motivated me to getting up to speed with my wideband radio scanners, ICOM IC-PCR1500 & IC-R3. The PCR1500, though is an analog receiver, is "overkill" here in the Philippines. Frequently, I run the PCR1500 with its control head, which I've been wondering if I can remake it using Arduino. Inside the PCR1500 is a major, digital microcontroller-based interfaced with an analog radio receiver circuits.

As for transmitting, well my FCC amateur radio license expired and my Kenwood TH-D7A(G) and Yaesu VX-2R are mothballed in my closet. At one time, I was able to do packet radio (common in USA), but it wasn't usabled in Philippines.
