matLAB Coding of PSK signal constellation

Does anyone know how a matLAB can be used to calculate the symbol energy when you define the distance between two points as d.  While this is not to hard to do by hand i have no idea how to make matLAB solve this for D, let alone how to have matLAB solve an uneven PSK.  Any help would be appriciated

    Hello Mngialich,

     

    This looks alot like a class assignment.   Calculating the symbol energy for a design is almost never done in the real world.

     

    You might find better help from your University professor or a math tutor....I believe most universities have a math resource center.   They could help.

     

    Generally speaking matLAB should be able to calculate the symbol energy by following these general guidelines.

     

    1.  Define your variable.

    2. Define your equation.

    3. Calculate answer using 1 and 2 above.

    4.  You might want to try to use simulink.  This is a very good tool to describe processes.

     

    This looks like something you should spend some time on.   Does you university have a matLAB course.   I found it very useful.
