Am I able to know the connectivity of individual pins?

Hi,

 

Recently, i have been trying to find a software that is able to identify the connectivity of each individual pins of comports, VGA & USB but i can't find any solution.

 

Can anyone guide me on this issue?

    I think you're unlikely to find a generic solution. Each pin would have to be considered on a case by case basis. It may be that the operating system doesn't even know the state of some pins, or for other pins, certain software might already give you the info you need. The other complication of course, is your definition of "connectivity" - for some pins there may be no physically detectable state associated with "connectivity" except in certain domain specific events.

     

    If you want a general solution to what I think you're asking (is there an electrical connection from socket to pin in the plug?) then I'm afraid there will be nothing universal short of a multimeter with one probe on the circuit board side of the plug and the other on the end of the cable.
