IDEO, a company famous for its innovative and creative design work has a new concept for playing music. Using RFID laden "cards," shaped like cassette tapes for nostalgia, thrown onto a fake record music is accessed on your computer. Throw on many cards will create a playlist of songs. IDEO's Design Director Martin Bone and Materials Scientist Kara Johnson goal for this project is to bring back the physical, tactile, feedback we all once had before the click or tap of MP3s.
Keep in mind, this is only a concept. If they don't release this soon, I'm sure motivated EDEs will be hard on the case to make something similar. Especially since this project's workhorse is a collection of Arduino Pro dev boards.
