LTE CAT-M chip and LTE chip recommendation

Hello,

  • Which LTE CAT-M chip and LTE chip would you recommend according to their prices and Linux driver availability?
  • Please skip China wireless chips like Quectel, etc, since they are not cheap and will not be accepted as infrastructure in EU and USA.

    While designing a product rather than looking at which company provides a chip you should also look in this case what the CHIP offers. 
    As connectivity is not something that is everywhere supported. For example, in your region LTE-M is not supported you can go for chips that supports NB-IoT instead.

    If these two are not supported, you may go for GSM or similar support. For me it was hard to get the SIM card with connectivity I wanted to have and wasted a lot of my time.
