Up to 122 Lumens from New Neutral White XLamp XP-E LEDs
DURHAM, N.C., DECEMBER 8, 2009 — Cree, Inc. (Nasdaq: CREE), a market leader in LED lighting, announces the commercial availability of new, high-efficiency white XLamp XP-E LEDs. These “outdoor white” LEDs provide the same flux and efficacy levels as Cree’s XLamp cool white LEDs with a neutral color that more closely matches existing high-intensity discharge (HID) installations (4000K – 5300K CCT).
Available in sample quantities now, and in production quantities with standard lead times, the outdoor white XLamp XP-E LEDs deliver up to 122 lumens at 350 mA, at 4500 K.
“Outdoor lighting manufacturers can now offer either a cool white or a neutral white color point without trade-offs in lumen output or LED efficacy,” said Paul Thieken, Cree director of marketing, LED components. “And since it’s part of the XLamp XP-E family, changing existing XP-E system designs to high-efficiency outdoor white can be simple.”
Cree’s IES LM-80 lumen maintenance test data for the XLamp XP-E LED has been accepted by ENERGY STAR. Cree’s lighting-class XLamp XP LEDs are also UL-recognized, conforming to ANSI/UL 8750, Safety Standard for Light Emitting Diode (LED) Equipment for Use in Lighting Products.
