Product Overview

The Eureka 125kHz RFID starter kit - reader module version is a complete starter kit supplied with a pcb reader , cables, tags, software and manuals. This kit provides an ideal low cost introduction into low  frequency (LF) RFID. 

The starter kit  includes a close proximity pcb reader module for reading and writing to LF passive tags.  The reader module is ideal for OEM applications, pilots and trials. 

The reader supports Unique read only (R/O)  and Hitag-S read write (R/W) tags with typical read ranges of between 2 to 5cm using the supplied integral antenna.  The reader can write to all hitag-s variants of R/W tags with the write range being typically one third of available read range.

A selection of supported LF tags are included in the kit, which include both read only and read write options.

For specific applications different antenna can be supplied to offer greater read range and positioning flexibility.

Features

The Eureka 125kHz reader module has hardware selectable TTL, RS232 and RS485 (2-Wire) communication interface options with software configurable communication parameters including the protocol and operating modes.

Firmware updates are possible via a supplied bootloader included with the evaluation software. The evaluation software allows full control of the reader commands and configuration.

The reader operates using the supplied 12V DC PSU and consumes <100mA while operating.

An open drain output allows the option to control an external device such as a sounder or led.
