Is it Wi-Fi or BTLE?

The both are now common place in many projects but if the budget allowed for one which would it be?

BTLE for proximiry comms, for example between wearables, or between wearable and mobile, or in a hospital room for heartbeat detection without cables
WiFi if you want to data sensed data to a cluod or to the internet to acces it remotely
