License from 5.xx not working with 5.12 - MAC OSX

I performed an upgrade from 5.11 to 5.12 and now my PRO license file is not being accepted.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Patrick,

     

    Make sure you're using the correct key file. The key file will be called

    (serialnumber).key or in some cases license.key. If you're using an

    eagle.key file then that will not work.

     

    The other piece of the puzzle is the installation code it's ten

    lowercase letters(no numbers).

    Yeah, a few things - Mac install is NOT installing an eagle.key file.  You need to copy/rename the freeware.key file.

     

    Second, I am using the exact same file as I was in version 5.11. And upgrading to 5.12 DELETED my 5.11 install. Additionally, I could not DELETE 5.12 and revert back to 5.11.

     

    Copying freeware key to eagle key at least allows me to run as freeware.

     

    Been a license holder from 2.6 DOS days!

    Hi Patrick,

     

    Try reinstalling EAGLE but instead of letting it install in the

    Applications folder, install it in the documents folder.

     

    Then try licensing it again.

    Well, it all started going bad with the missing eagle.key file, but I finally got it under control.  Clean install at 5.12, original new copy of license file.

     

    All is well at 5.12.

     

    Now, I'll upgrade to 6.  Hopefully, it will install without deleting 5.12.
