Completing the last stages of scale-model construction to form a Power Module that sits at a foundations/ground level:

The special pump/base/tank assembly is affixed in the centre of the bottom housing

An Air Compressor is positioned on one side and an Air Receiver on the opposite side.

In this instance the piece of equipment has a 12-volts DC motor (*)

 

An additional element is the ‘WIZZROTO’ (to the right on the plan layout) a hydro-energy device with a water collecting chamber that will take its source of supply from the mains water connection feeding into the top, No. 4, level and convert it into electrical energy for battery storage and as a supplementary supply. (**)

This enables the loading and stacking of ‘food-growing’ containers on each level (the ‘supermarket-shelves’ syndrome)

*In a full-size installation the Compressed Air Supply could be separate to the Modular Vertical Farm, with the Air Compressor mounted onto the Air Receiver as a self-contained Power Pack, sited adjacent to the Farm or remotely in a Compressor House. To give you an idea of scale, I have shown the Power Pack as a stand-alone item; the size of the model is 22 cm long x 9 cm wide x 15 cm high; also, alongside the Power Module.

**The ‘WIZZROTO’ is conceptual but I have consulted with a university professor who is an expert in hydro-energy, and he agrees that in principle it could work.

**The concept is not an essential part of this project but so that I can follow the idea through I have started to assemble a small-scale 3D unit to test early 2021.
