Design Features:

  1. This is a modular and scalable design. More water tanks can be added at any time and a single or more water tank can be removed easily from the system for harvesting the required amount of algae at a time.

  2. Valves at the end of each water tank for the maintenance and scalability of the system

  3. Each water container is to be half-filled with water and half with used capsules of air. As the algae grow and photosynthesis occurs, it will replenish the oxygen level in the air.

Following sensors are installed to monitor and ensure healthy growth of algae:

  1. pH Sensor: to ensure alkalinity of water. It indicates that it is time to add alkaline substances.
  2. Temperature sensor: to ensure a suitable temperature for algae growth. Turns On and Off Heater as required.
  3. Light Sensor: to ensure proper supply of light required for photosynthesis (growth of algae). If natural light hours per day are less, then turns on Lamp

I've also implemented most part of my design. It's just i got too busy to document the whole thing and post.

Feel free to discuss your issue with HAT . I've implemented that part...

Nice Design of a growing chamber for the algae.

It's a similar design to mine. I'm working on implementing my design now.

INTRODUCTION BLOG -Edible Algae System - (Growing Spirulina in space)

I'm having trouble with the automation hat and my Led Light circuit at the moment. I might need to run it from a different source.

    Kind Regards

    Steve K
