Introduction
The world is facing a great pandemic i.e COVID19 virus. Doctors are struggling with the virus though the spread can't be controlled. Also many countries have relaxed the lockdown to some extent. Doctors have controlled the spread of virus to some extent. However It is essential to innovate and design devices capable of controlling the spread of virus. Report shows that major of the virus transmission happens through surface contacts. Now consider places like hospitals and other public places, switches are everywhere and it is essential to operate devices. There is a possibility of virus spread through the surface of switches. It is essential to develop a smart automation system to reduce the spread of virus through surface contacts.
Unboxing the kit
I have received my Arduino Nano 33 IoT from Element14 and I wanna thank Element14 for providing me the board. The box contained the following items:
- Arduino Nano 33 IoT Board with headers
- Foam Piece
- Arduino Stickers
- Instruction Manual
So this board is going to be the brain of my project. I'm gonna use this board to create something cool. Let's have a look at my project idea.
About Project
On considering the above problem, I have come up with a solution called "Project Defender". My solution comprises of IR sensors and relays connected with the Arduno Nano 33 IoT Board. Speech recognition will be done by the kivy app running on the android mobile phone. So, the system consists of IR sensor as switches as well as a mobile phone app that can be used to control the appliances over voice or using switches in the app. Also I'm planning to integrate Arduino IoT cloud in my project to unleash the power of IoT. Project Defender enables a way to contactless switching of appliances.
