Design for a Cause 2021 - Robotic Hand (Blog #7) – Project Complete (Part 2)
As promised, here is the video of the working hand. But first:
Issues I had making it work:
- Calibrating it properly
- I had problems with the calibration due to the sensor moving slightly. Even it moving 2 - 3mm it will lose the calibration.
- When it was calibrated and worked correctly (Attached Video) I still had issues. These issues were caused from an injury I had 10 years ago to my right hand. It may be unnoticeable in the video but I ran my hand through a table saw and tore out most of my tenons and nerves. I don't have much feeling in most of my hand and part of my wrist. This made it a bit difficult.
- Making the video
- Trying to take a video and keep my other arm totally relaxed while the sensor calibrates.
