Open Source EMDR Machine. The Whole Blog.

 

Design changes

 

After building a prototype I decided to make some design changes.

1) All vibration motors will be 3.3V motors. Surprisingly, they are more powerful than 12V ones.

2) I will not use DFPlayer, but will use Arduino tone() function to produce sound for the left and right speakers. It will let me have as long/short of a sound as I want.

 

Updated Breadboard

 

Here is an updated version with Arduino Nano, 12V supply is replaces with 3.3V supply and overall cleaned out. I found a couple of mistakes in my previous breadboard file, so I tried to fix them all.

    I tried these motors:

    3V - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KYLZC1S/

    12V - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CG79469/

    For this machine motors supposed to be held in hands and attached to the chest, so I just held both sets in my hands and checked how it feels.

    3V felt more powerful. I was very surprised. Maybe it is because 12V are in the hard shell and the shell cancels some of the vibration.
