Hello everyone.
Today I received Grand Prize which I won in recently concluded Experimenting with Current Sense Amplifiers Design Challenge. It started with hand drawing schematic of experiment plans like on following photo almost three months ago.
Then it was followed by hard work resulting to implementation of promised experiments
And as a result, today I received reward for this work.
Reward was consisting of two parts: iPad Pro with 12.9” display (revision 2021) and Apple Watch Series 7. While announced value of the reward on contest page was stated as 1300 USD, due to some price increase in time when contest was in progress resulted to increase of this value to almost 1450 USD.
This is my first iPad. While I am more friendly with high performance computers allowing running me whatever operating system I want and running many virtual machines, I very quickly find some use cases for iPad. I tested that USB mouse and keyboard works when connected to the USB Type-C port of iPad. Camera is also nice. I tried use it as a microscope for reading labels on tiny chips and it work similarly like camera in my iPhone.
I have no use cases for Apple Watch, so I gave it to my sister which very quickly found use cases for it. She is also satisfied with this reward.
I would like to thank element14 team for sending me this reward, organizing whole contest, judges for judging the contest, Maxim Integrated (ADI) for sponsoring it, all who applied for very nice projects, experiments and blog posts and finally, I would also like to thank all who read this blog posts. It was extremely interesting and inspiring contests to me. I have seen many very interesting projects and It was not easy beat all of them. This contest gave me a lot. I received fantastic development Kit including Raspberry Pi Click Shield, Click board with fantastic MAX40080 CSA sensor, iPad Pro, Apple Watch and also large amount of knowledge and experiences (in fact I consider them more valuable than whole kit and reward, but this depends on point of view of course). I recommend anyone to apply Design Challenge here on element14. At the time of writing this blog post there is opened Summer of Sensors Design Challenge with 4 contest categories, so if you want to try winning one of 4 offered iPads, just enrol. I recommend this to anyone. I do not plan to join this competition because I decided to spend my free time with Experimenting with Thermistors rather (and because now I already won one iPad, so second one is not a very attractive to me :D ).
Thank you for reading this (most probably the totally last) blog post as part of this fantastic competition.
