We are sponsoring a competition for electronics experts; all the participants have to do is conduct experiments or tests on a selection of flyback transformers that we will send to them FOC.
The element14 Community, part of Farnell, is hosting this competition in collaboration with a top supplier of flyback transformers, Bourns.
What are Flyback Transformers?
While flyback transformers are not the most talked about electronic component (in comparison to transistors or batteries, for instance), they are a key component in isolated power supplies.
They are used in many different devices and applications, including DC-DC power supplies, telecom, LED lighting, Power over Ethernet (PoE), Battery charging, Solar microinverters, and more.
