Technical Support Thread | Experimenting With Single Pair Ethernet

Hi Ben5049 , JWx , veluv01 , vmate , how are we doing with the challenge?

There has already been some great discussion on the kit but, as everyone progresses, I thought it might be helpful if I created a dedicated place for discussing any technical challenges you come across or solutions that you discover.

This is also a great place if you have any questions for Molex, the challenger sponsor and provider of much of the kit. You can also contact me directly if you prefer.

To help facilitate discussion, I am sharing below some reference points like the part numbers and order codes as well as documentation for all the kit parts. If you come across any useful documentation that you think everyone should be aware of then leave a comment or drop me a message and I will add it here.

Thanks for setting this up! Really appreciate having all the documentation in one place. I'm currently setting up the Kuiper Linux (on the RPi 4) for CN0575. Here's some of the resources for flashing…

Well, it seems like luck is not on my side for this project, after weeks of trying, FedEx refused to deliver the package to me, so I still don't have it. It looks like I will be designing a custom PCB…

posted another update - I am currently in the process of choosing replacement waterproof enclosure - the one from Extreme Environment design challenge has slightly too large opening, which could lead to unreliable gasket contact. I have first thought about using additional seal but it may be against proper testing methodology so I will probably use another one...

I'm sorry it sounds like it might not be working out but it's a neat idea trying to use the waterproof enclosure from the previous extreme environment challenge :)

No problem - I have a few of them (my Extreme Environment projects were about comparing parameters inside different enclosures), but E14 branded one would be nice to use. Unfortunately, opening cut for really similar connector turned out to be about 2mm larger than needed. Mount can be installed but there is some leeway that could cause unneeded complications later, so I would probably either drill a second opening or use different enclosure - still trying to decide what would be better for the project Slight smile
