So many people here been taking the projects to very advanced levels, designing and using advanced particle sensors, solar power done right, etc. Really cool to see. And I know some of the contestants…

More votes should be going to Gan Eng Swee, Ambrogio Galbusera, Christever del Rosario and Janis Alnis to be honest. They have been tirelessly posting updates and keeping at it. Well done guys!

Many of the projects are deserving of a community vote because of the level of useful information they have provided, however I agree one vote isn't enough! I don't know how it could work, but having several…

Same here, but I am making up for it via software tutorials and keeping my fingers crossed that the passives arrive. This is the case where the term "reasonable cause" is used. Support from Wurth has been INCREDIBLE and I got the cap kit just like you. Please share info on any work since it's an excellent learning exercise for guys like me. image

I've missed quite a number of "weeks", but without the parts to move forward there is no content to publish. I'd just be filling the E14 blogs with garbage.

This topic is worth discussion over in the Top Members forum. Personally I think instead of votes, there should be multiple columns on things like Scores on

    • Useful Tutorials and Guides
    • Completeness of Information and Sourcecode.
    • Presentation of material
    • Cohesiveness of content posted.
    • Technical Level of material supplied
    • Amount of work put into the build like use of circuits as opposed to bought out modules
    • Validity of formulated solution as in the practicality of system and components.
    • And Use of budget and allocated resources.

There are so many factors that make a design challenge a 'challenge' and everyone faces different hurdles in their path. Unlike a hackathon where everyone is in the same room, these design challenges spread out around the world where we all face different issues(personal issues aside). Every participant has different skills and it's very difficult to make a weighing machine to judge the amount of work done. image

I went through a couple of polls and couldn't fine a single multiple-choice poll, so you're probably right about that - too bad, would be nice to have for this kind of polls.

Many of the projects are deserving of a community vote because of the level of useful information they have provided, however I agree one vote isn't enough! I don't know how it could work, but having several votes each could be awesome. But probably the system has no capability of allowing multiple vote selection in a poll.

    Frederick

It appears while you might have missed one week (it was in draft), there are others who have missed a few a LOT

    The rules state ...

    image

Terms of Use: In the Air design competition

Looking at the entries it's a 3 horse race ...if you believe in rules.

If you use Christophers Updates as a starting point ... there are 13 weeks so far and some are struggling to make half that number.

So lets hope that the rules are applied before the final prize draw.

Dragan sir- I respect what you are saying. Trust me when I say this, Ambrogio has the highest chances of winning the grand prize. You have nothing to worry about. image

Having many friends is probably deserved by helping them with their projects with comments and advises, so it's not completely unfair.

But I do agree it's somewhat unfair that for example Ambrogio has only 2 out of 26 votes (at this moment), he definitely deserves more.

Maybe it would be better if we could all post two votes, one for a friend and one for someone we honestly think should get our vote for the project image

In a perfect world, we should have the ability to receive parts via email but that does not happen does it? image

And technically the most technical design should win but in real life there is so much more image

I think we are all friends here and help each other out anyway we can. I'm just going crazy with all the support Im getting and it a big motivation. Win or loose, I feel like a winner with all the support I am getting image

    Keep em coming.

This will be an endless discussion, but technically, both you and I should be disqualified for having missed (many) weekly updates.

I hope the community poll doesn't come back in future challenges, as it is only about who has most friends on E14 or with an E14 account.

Someone without any posts could win runner-up as long as he/she has enough people to vote for him/her.

Not cool for people trying hard and sticking to the rules.
