In blog #3, I setup and configured the Gateway, Smart Sensor and Layer-N Cloud. Now I can monitor the system remotely. The various sensors' data (temperature, humidity and light) will be reported to the cloud. This will greatly help farm owner to minimize the effort of monitoirng the farm's environment so that it is suitable for the health of poultry. With that said, the next step will be setting up an alarm and alert system in such a way that the system will sent notifications to owner if the sensors' data exceeds certain threshold.
With the Omega Sync, you can setup this condition by clicking the "bell"-shape Alarm button. Below shows that I configured the light sensor to be within range 10 lx and 30 lx. Any light value out of the range will be flagged and highlighted in red color.
However, there is a better way to setup the alarm configuration. That is you can configure all theses parameters in Omega Layer-N Cloud. Here as shown, I setup the temperature and light alarm setting. Temperature should be within range 20 degree C and 35 degree C, and light within range 10 lx and 30 lx.
All alarms are shown on the main dashboard. Here the dashboard displayed the highlighted sensor widget in a "warning" color with 2 alarms indicated.
The alarms' log is shown in the sensor dashboard. The log shows the alarm datetime, message and severity.
The measurement tab of the sensor dashboard shows the sensor data in the form of chars. You can view the data selectively by real time, today, this week or custom time settings.
If the Notification system is setup, you will receive alarm notifications via email or SAM.
And these are the email notifications that I received. But I did not try the SMS notification and I believe it should work.
