apt/apt-get commands not working

I am on the final stages of the PetaLinux labs and about to start my project. Unfortunately, the apt and apt-get commands are not working and I cannot find away to install the commands. Any help would be appreciate. I need these commands for my project because I have to install opencv and other packages.

Awwww. Thanks...I have done builds on the hardware itself. I assumed that was being done here. Thanks.

FileZilla is installed on Ubuntu in the VM, not on the Ultra96. apt should work in Ubuntu.

Experiment 2: Secure Remote Login and File Transfer of Connect with Ultra96 Using Wi-Fi – Lab 3 recommends Filezilla. It is not present in the petalinux build so in the lab it instructs us to install Filezilla using the command: $ sudo apt install filezilla

I get a command not found error.

Ah. buffteethr  guess you were hoping to use those commands. Well sorry to disappoint, but you will need to do a petalinux-build and use bitbake as well to add the necessary "packages" you want included. Lucky for you though, someone already has a recipe built for opencv. Take a look at https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/petalinux-opencv/td-p/892206 . Hope your project works well!

You need to provide more information about which Linux/Unix distro you are using, what package repositories are available, and why you need opencv.  If this is not a Debian-based distro, getting Debian packaging tools (apt, dpkg, etc.) is probably not an option.  Is this an rpm-based distro like Centos?  If so, learn how to use yum and rpm.  If this is some special-case limited Linux/Unix, then go to the forums maintained by the product provider.

I found some information for opencv here: https://docs.opencv.org/master/df/d65/tutorial_table_of_content_introduction.html
