Hello Everyone
Its great to have an opportunity in the International Design Challenge with other participating engineers/professors/hobbyist and with an international community of Element14.com and that too on FPGA AMD Xilinx Development board. In my 18+ years experience, this would be the first time hands on FPGA board, though I had done consultancy on schematic design and algorithm functions division of some industrial prototype to be designed with 32-bit ARM and FPGA board.
Thanks for selecting me as Challenger for the Design Challenge, the proposals being submitted as ‘Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale Designs’ and ‘UltraScale Plant Irrigation System’, under two tracks “The Market Path” and “The Environmental Path”. Thanks for the sponsored 64-bit development board by AMD.
In this challenge, I will make training videos, sensors interfacing, data collection, experimenting with solar panel, vibration circuits, energy harvesting circuits, old and new battery circuits/new chemistry/storage, few other circuits and designs, (which all would be part of one invention or may be patent) on 64-bit.
In the Final Project, I will make ‘UltraScale Plant Irrigation System’ on 64-bit with some algorithms in mind. How much I would be successful in the design/invention would get revealed in the coming months.
This blog1 is related to Software Installation part on Ubuntu 22.04. For PYNQ, python3 is installed. Its connectivity with Ultra96 board will be shown in the next Blog.
The journey of installation was even tedious,
You can see the difficulties I faced and how I solved in following links
1) Solved:Linux/Ubuntu Installation stuck in Vivado/Vitis AMD
2) Series: AMD Xilinx Zynq Ultra96-V2
Final Proof of Installation, 218.Gb hard disk space used,
In these videos, I have shown platform, ubuntu, python and software’s installations. The Avnet Board training is on 2021.2 but as I have installed on 2023.1, my videos will be on 2023.1.
Thanks.
