First of all, big thanks to Element 14 for the opportunity! The kit is awesome and I’m looking forward to using all the components in upcoming projects.
Just a quick update here since the kit has arrived.
Here is a video of unboxing the kit which arrived in the mail this week. Very excited to get going on this project.
I've been giving a lot of thought to the idea of incorporating a fire suppression system into the hood. I like the idea very much but would need to research detection methods before moving forward with it. Even 30 seconds of grease fire can be enough to get out of hand and burn down a house. Commercial kitchens are required to have fire suppression above their friers so this would be a residential application... more to come on that...
Also an update - my daughter Hana was born on December 5th. I shot this video just before midnight once everyone had finally gone to bed 
. I am typing this update on my phone with one hand while holding the newborn in the other...
The newborn is so excited to be here for the new range hood! And the wife is so glad that I'll finally be getting around to finish the project
I will be posting a more detailed outline in a few days once I iron out some of the details.
