Case design improvements
The Meditech eye probe camera is conceived to work nearby the main device component for easier usage. The camera position with the RGB light ring (see the image below) in the case prototype is fixed but need to be able to rotate and should be plied when the module is not in use to fit better in the component side of the case. This means to redesign this part of the case adding this two movements. As this part is the cover of the camera flat cable, it does not affect the circuitry and connections.
Adding vision disease tests
Together to the active tests that can be done with the camera probe there is a series of test that can improve the vision potential diseases of the patient based on the use of the screen and special coloured patterns. The following images are two examples of the patterns used to generate VEP, Visually Evoked Patterns than can be used to record iris contraction and other secondary parameters, avoiding one of the associated analysis - The EEG - that need specialised personnel and can't be applied in the conditions usually expected for the Meditech device application.
Another series of tests that should be implements with the esclusive use of the main color display are visual patterns to detect color blindness.
There is a consideration about this kind of tests. As apparently these can be useful only in certain kind of analysis and conditions, i.e. during a visit in an hospital, really the things are different. If we think the kind of environment the Meditech device is provided for, all the possible simple yet realiable diagnostic evaluations maybe useful at least for two reasons:
- Extend as much as possible the application possibilities offered by the device, increasing its versatility.
- Give the option to the medical operator to produce a patient investigation fast, simple and as much as complete possible.
