Speaker Assembly: Component removal

It has been busy this week, although the blog has taken some time to put together. I've been gathering a few more supplies necessary for the construction of the container for the "Picorder". While that is in progress, I've set in motion some basic tests of the device. I've been working on the display functions mainly at the moment. I've attached some more photos and video of some of their results. If you'll notice the display pin outs are very different so determining the correct pin out to program the Pi correctly was 'interesting'. In the meantime, I've been disassembling some more devices for parts. The speaker assembly had a damaged plug so I decided to use it's components for the Picorder. The original Tricorder has sound features so I intend to have it here also. In my last blog I stated I would be doing some sketches for the housing unit, however, I have a couple selections en route that I found online so I may not need to completely construct the case. I'm tracking the code I'm using to so it'll be published at a later date in its entirety along with a completed parts list. Enjoy the image gallery and video! image

If you want the video in the blog you'll need to "edit" blog "insert video" and select the uploaded video under the "from your videos" tab. Let me know if you have any questions.
