Oven Control with PSOC 4: Post 7

I started with the op-amps. I put it in the non-inverting mode,  I measured the voltage at the Arduino compatible I/O header J2.  I could measure only digital voltage VDD = 3.42 volt. When the noninverting input is connected to VSS the output becomes zero. There is no in-between value. Though  I  selected 3 analog pins. I took one example for op-amp. For this also no analog output. If the pins can give only digital output then why analog pins are listed in components? Next I'll try the ADC input pins and check whether I can get an analog value. Following gives the screen-shot of the circuit.

    Hi Victor,

     

    My eyesight is not what it used to be, which is why it looked a little strange.

    That and I was less than coherent yesterday due to pain and sinus issues.

    Hi Mala,

     

    You need to put them outside the chip, that's probably the reason why it doesn't work image They just exist 'graphically', to make the circuit make sense on screen.

    DAB! Do you mean giving a positive voltage as input to the inverting terminal? In that case output should be zero as the op-amp is single supply. Isn't it?  I tried voltage follower as well. But the same problem occurs. I tried opamp0 as well. In this case, the output is 1.21 volt for an input of 0.3 volt. Whereas the output should be 0.45 volt as the gain is 1.5. Victor! Do you mean voltage follower when u r suggesting buffer? I tried that. For opamp1 the output is  always digital. For opamp0 the output is incorrect. 

     

    What are these off-chip components? Do they really exist on the board or the user needs to connect it externally. Is this facility provided to get the schematic and a successful build?

    Hi Dab,

    It's not that weird is it? Looks like a standard noninverting opamp...Pin2 has a voltage divider as input, and pin 1 is the inverting input. Output voltage would be ( 1+(10k/20k))*Vin.

     

    Mala: please do check all connections, I think you can also set up an opamp as buffer. If you're missing the feedback resistor it 'll act as a comparator....
