Following picture shows DIY Chest Strap for heart rate monitoring using AD8232 AFE...

image

Here is Short Video Showing Working of MY DIY Chest Strap with AD8232 and Copper clad PCB as ECG Probe to monitor heart rate..

I observed that if area of ECG Probe is increased it gives better results...in future I am planning to design these ECG Probes using conductive fabric https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10070 for get better contact and its easy to wear and easy to fabricate and assamble...

Also motion artifacts are not critical with compare to peak of QRS Complex signal with my current setup so only thresholding is enough to detect heart beat

Also I Have almost done with hardware part I will share my working hardware soon..

Thanks,

Ravi

Yes, I have done some warm up exercise before testing this Heart rate monitor, so in my case sweat has done the job of reducing impedance...image

    hello Ravi,

    it looks good image

just to share, I am already using the conductive fabric. it is a good solution for this project I believe.

but I have checked the impedance studies and found that the electrode impedance of conductive fabric is very high compared to metal plates coated with Ag/AgCl. specially, at lower frequencies.

on the other hand, u can reduce the motion artifact using fabric if it's fixed tight enough. I am using conductive thread to sew the fabric in right place.

there is another trick - u can use saline nasal/eye drop [salty water] on the fabric to reduce the impedance and then it works really nice image

best of luck with ur progress.
