Infineon - Technical Support Thread

Hello everyone,

I created this thread here for technical support regarding Infineon hardware for the element14 sustain the world challenge.

Please post all questions here, if you got issues and problems.

However, part of the challenge is also to come along with the hardware by yourself! To don't get overwhelmed by too many questions,

I want to encourage you all, that you are trying to solve small problems as well as possible by yourself first! image

Furthermore, even though it's a competitive challenge, helping each other is also possible and welcome!

jd_tech_support_ifx and me will try to answer your questions!

Good luck to everyone!

Mr. Brew

Thanks, rati89 and jd_tech_support_ifx , you guys are really amazing and helped me a lot. Without you guys, I might even use up much more time figuring out about the kit. Thank you very much. Sincerely…

Hi, Do anyone have successfully control the DC Motor shield using XMC4700 programmed by DAVE? I can control it using example code in Arduino IDE, but there Arduino can only have 2 interrupt pins. And I…

I didn't update anything, the update meant to be the update on my progress. I just click the Install button instead of Download Now.

Unfortunately, You cannot do it in DAVE - I think. Like I said, just download the files and the flashtools.

    Infineon toolbox: https://www.infineon.com/cms/en/tools/landing/infineontoolbox.html

    Hi Mr Brew,

I'm using DAVE IDE. Can you guide me on how to do it in DAVE?

The debugger chip (XMC4200) on the board is pre-flashed with a debugger firmware from segger j-link.

Try to run the J-link flashtool (e.g. JFlash.exe or JFlashLite.exe, you can find it in the installation directory of Segger J-Link), erase the total chip. After that the error should disappear.

There is also a XMC flasher tool in the Infineon Toolbox, that should do the same job or check directory something like: C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\Infineon\tools\XMCFlasher\1.2.1

    Hi,

I have got this No source available for "(gdb[1].proc[42000].threadGroup[i1],gdb[1].proc[42000].OSthread[1]).thread[1].frame[0]"  errors while trying to upload program to the XMC4700. Can I know what is the possible cause? Thanks in advance.

    Hey Cyber Wizard,

I just quickly checked the board and it seems that you only have to send some AT-Commands to control the shield.

Therefore, I would recommend you to use the UART-APP from DAVE to send the right commands.

There are few websites where you can find information what kind of commands you have to send.

    E.g. here https://www.instructables.com/id/GSM-SIM900A-With-Arduino/ .

I think there is not dedicated app in DAVE for this, but the UART-App with its corresponding functions should be sufficient to send these commands.

    I hope that helps!

    BR,

    JD
