A quick start guide for how to get started developing with EFM32, EZR32, and Simplicity Studio. Also includes some basics on prototyping with sensors, and contains helpful documentation to aid in development.
I like their initiative, but there are lots of microcontrollers in existence that they could have used to solve this particular problem.
That said, I am hoping to see someone in the contest prove me wrong and show conclusively that this board is superior for agriculture control applications.
The one thing that might set the SiLabs boards apart is the low energy aspect. I know there are basically low energy micro wars going on right now. So I'd have to do some pretty major research to prove the SiLabs is the best.
One thing that might make that so however is the multiple low energy levels, 4 is a lot, the wake-up times and the level of functionality available in some of the low energy states.
