YAY!! image

We are pretty excited image and  we thank for selecting our project IoT Plant, Soil & Water Management System our team received the kits for the Element 14 Vertical farming design challenge !!image

We owe sincere Apologies for the delayed blog post - unavoidable circumstances. image

Crops chosen:

Veggie:

Tomato

Ladies finger

Herb:

Tulsi

Setup and Design :

Materials required.

1. Plywoods and wood blocks.

2. Pvc pipes.

3. Dipagram pump 45Psi, connecting tubes, connectors, Air pumps, air stones.

4. Supply tank, Reservoir tank.

5. Red soil, required manure, fertilizers, and pesticides.

Handmade 'A-frame' hydroponic system

  • With the help of wooden blocks and plywood sith  we are planning to build "A- Frame".
  • PVC tubes are mounted on the either sides of the "A-frame". The crops chosen are planted inside the coconut shell with necessary manures.
  • The two mounted PVC pies of the A- frame are connected to the main vertical pipe.
  • Two vertical pipes, each will be mounted on two sides of the A-frame.one side of the vertical pipe is from the tank and other pipes goes to reservoir.
  • And the germinated seedlings will be placed in the pvc holes  on both the pipes.

REASON IN SHORT :

The water from the tank gets pumped to the top and the flow continues  to the second, third , and finally reaches the reservoir for oxidation.

The water from the reservoir will be connected to the tank.

The liquid nutrients get added to the tank the plant gets the necessary nutrient. Thus the continuous flow of water marks Hydroponics.

Advantages:

1. Maintaining the humidity and temperature.

2. Continuous supply of nutrients to the plants.

3. Efficient water management and oxidization.

First Blog post ends here !! Next post we will be sharing the visual CAD model and live set-up unboxing videos!!
