Maitake Mushroom Cloning - Results

Before I left for Sri Lanka in June, I started some clones in agar.  This picture is after about 1 week of incubation.

At the same time, I started some jar cultures of wood chips hoping they would be ready when I returned in July.

They failed due to mold contamination, however the initial cultures multiplied like crazy.

Here's a comparison.

This weekend, I am planning to make up some new fruiting containers with wood chips and bran for substrate.
