Project: ferris farm post 14

Hi guys last post was abit basic so I will give some more updates here

Firstly

Seeds have arrived and I have started testing 2 different germination methods

I wont be using these plants in the official tests these are just for abit of learning on the side as we do have thousands of seeds

Maybe I could make a lettuce roof on my house

One set is placed inside polymer balls the other mixed in with crushed up polymer balls not very easy to see but there is one seed inside each ball and 3 in the mush

I will take multiple images of these as they progress or if they progress

The unit is built and everything put in place apart from the motor and sensor switch

I believe I didn't go into detail enough about the importance of rotation in my design

Firstly the lighting is fixed in one place with the lower section of the traction the dark area and top the light area this would mean without rotation half of the plants would get light and the other half not

Secondly there will be a switch that connects to the wooden rotisary while the switch Is deactivated it tells the software that it is in position to be watered and fed without this switch and rotation the watering system can not be computerised

Worse case scenario

No electronics for the official testing

I would have to hand turn and feed the plants while I continue.to solve the issues this I hope will not happen

Best case scenario

Code is written

new motor, motor controller and pulley ordered for rotation and everything.works perfect

Middle ground

Hand rotation

Rotating the system every 6 hours so that it disconnects the switch so that watering can begin I did hope every 8 hours but I need to make 4 quarter turns every 24 hours

This is a likely scenario but I'm still working on getting a motor that will work

These blogs are good but abit here a there what are your opinions on a start to finish document documenting each step, step by step
