Not much to report, other than doing a lot of reading on hydroponics. I'm going to the hydroponics store today or tomorrow, and going to home Depot to get some tubing and PVC pipe. Also taking the opportunity to purchase a compound miter saw, which I've been in dire need of anyway. LOL. (Never pass up an opportunity to purchase power tools is what I told my daughter). Since one of the judging criteria is power utilization, I'm leaning towards just using sunlight and a home built grow tent for this. My daughter has an idea for a gravity fed pumping system for moving the nutrients around... I am dubious that it will work, but I'm game to try.
Since she is doing a science fair project that is going to compare a fully automated system with a manually based hydroponic system, she's also going to build a small traditional hydroponic system that will be used as a control group. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see whether or not our hairbrained technology attempt is better than "old school." (LOL). Parts have been ordered for the Ph measurement system, and they should be here on Monday. I'll post pictures as the build progresses. I have my daughter for the first week of fall break, and I'm taking a few days off of work, so we'll be working together in earnest on this project in a couple of weeks, so expect pictures and videos as we progress.
I am still waiting on the EZR32WG Wireless starter kit.
