Alternative Applications for Qi

I conducted a test of the Texas Instruments Transmitter Manager bq500210EVM-689bq500210EVM-689 and Receiver Evaluation Module bq51013AEVM-765bq51013AEVM-765 to check its viability of transmitting power through a Glass door.

This unedited video has little dialogue but it shows an MSP430 LaunchPadMSP430 LaunchPad being powered through a Glass Door.

Evidence of successful operation is demonstrated by the faint connection beep and the blinking LEDs on the MSP430 Launchpad.

I am really pleased with the result and now in a position do not have to drill any holes to;

  • power external and outdoor devices such as Christmas or Garden lights from inside
  • or use Outdoor Solar Panels to power and charge indoor devices.

Very useful. Very Very useful.

What do you think?

    Hi all, actually this is the right time to share my experience....with my brother. He is a carpenter, specialized on furnitures. So he doesn't have any clue about electronics, for sure he doesn't know…

    hey Monte, the approach is really genius! I could think of a number of devices and things which could be powered nicely through the window! Go Monte!!!
