Previous Post - Wireless Power Solution for Flashing Light 2 - Circuit Boards
Welcome all,
I have now completed the most difficult part of the project. I completed the assembly of the circuit board. and then powered up. SUCCESS Below are a couple of videos that confirm the initial switch on along with a bit of jabbering excited chat. This is a new video camera I recently acquired, although not new can produce nice videos, although I am not sure about the sound.
The biggest challenge of the assembly was the BQ51013A chip. Even being the larger of the 2 chip available to me it was still challenging. My eye are not bad, although had to switch glasses to look at the board then to the computer monitor on the other side of the room to see where the next component would go. I have never soldered tiny components before. Most of my experience was with through hole components with a touch of 0805. In this project the only option for me and the size is 0603.
In the end the full board is operational on switch, although I still require a number of test to perform before getting too happy with the results. This design will be no means the end of the project, I hope to refine the board and then consider possible market applications if possible, at least my wife will have the wireless power for her flashing light.
So for now the next step is to concentrate on the testing and performance and any potential EMC issues that may arise, then mounting the board under the flashing light. I am full of smiles although not on camera I was an excited puppy especially getting it to operate on the first switch on.
