Being an electronics parts hoarder has benefits, because if you need to quickly repair a thing or two, you have a great chance of already being in possession of the right replacement components.
My car key recently broke....It was slammed in a door and fell into pieces. Not only did the shell get shattered, but a button on the pcb itself broke.
Luckily (as aparts hoarder) I had the exact matching buttons in stock (which are curiously the same as used on the RPI pico) and was able to replace them with relative ease.
I opted to do both buttons so they would match in actuation force and have the same life expectancy from now on.
Did you ever need to repair a thing and had the right parts already in your hoard?
