  • I will create a nas for all of my media files to be shared throughout my home.  Maybe even a cloud storage out of it.

  • I had brain surgery to remove a tumor almost 2 years ago. Doing much better, thanks. It has spawned time to do fun things since I can no longer manage IT at 5 hospitals.  I have Arduinos, and want to begin to learn about the Raspberry. That is how I found you.  I am moving all of us to the basement this summer to do a remodel on the house. I want to setup a Raspberry Pi while I have all the regular gear stacked in the garage.

  • I think hard drive media players never got the love they deserved and the fight over bandwidth means that community is growing. The Raspberry Pi means the ecosystem is thriving. Based on this, I am planning to develop and crowdfund a Raspberry Pi Based Media Player. Something you can use, cherish, hack, upgrade and use for years to come. For a few months, I have been planning to develop a Raspberry Pi based media player complete with a hard drive/SSD up to 2TB, WiFi and Bluetooth, USB 3.0 ports for flash drives, or HID devices, an Ethernet Port, a HDMI, VGA, DVI, and Component Video outputs, AUX audio output, and powered by Micro USB or an included DC wall wart power supply. The media player will also include a wireless remote, everything to get it up and running in 5 minutes, a sleek and stylish case made of anodized aluminum in several colors, or a CNC'd Wooden (walnut) case and a RGB LED Light around the whole case. It will also come with a quick-start guide, and a pre-installed customized operating system. Most importantly, it will be cheaper than buying all the parts yourself! I've been putting this off for a while, but now that this opportunity has arisen, I think now is the time to get this idea off the ground and into the air. As Thomas J.
