  • I would learn how to compile the Linux kernel, something which I have always wanted to try.

  • I would like to have raspberry pi for three things. One for media center which I have many DVD movie and home movie. My wife is not good with computer and high tech equipments. I tried to find simple or friendly user for her to use it. She always depend on me to help her setup or run for her. Same with her parents. I thought if I win raspberry pi. I would like to set up media center with touch screen. If trouble then I can remote from my work computer or my iPhone into raspberry pi to check it or fix it. I would like it to be portable where we can carry with us to camping on RV. Sometime we take three or four DVD movies. Sometime our kids are not in mood those movie and whigh other movie. We don't have enought room for all DVD to vacation.  Second I would like to monitor the house for alarm  and AC and heat and sprinkler system. Third I would like to use it for HO train to control the lights and switch tracks.  I would like to control everything in one systems.

  • I would most likely use it as a media hub for my new 24x36 shop. That way i can watch Ben Heck as I fumble with my projects, NES (sega,snes) emulator in a NES coffee table with working controllers. I will need guidance when it comes to wiring and electronics.

  • I would build my wife a jukebox for the living room. We have xm radio and have experimented with online music streaming, but with those options we are limited to what someone else likes. She hates commercials of any kind. With a device that has the ability to also stream music and the nostalgic feel of an old fashioned jukebox she would be overjoyed.

  • I want to use it to build a motorised time-lapse rail system to do high definition time-lapse photography of the Milky Way and Aurora Borealis. I could program it to run the motorised dolly on the rail at various speeds in sync with the onboard camera intervalometer.
