Drawing inspiration from Cliff Stoll's method of storing his supply of Klein Bottles that he sells from his crawlspace under his house (search YouTube for "The Man with 1000 Klein Bottles Under His House", it's truly a fascinating little clip) He built a DIY RC forklift with three wireless cameras mounted on it so he can navigate the various improvised "aisles" in his crawlspace to fetch different styles and sizes of Klein Bottles that he sells online. While he prefers to control the forklift manually, using the cameras and monitors, he can also use optical sensors beneath the unit that can automatically follow along strips of tape affixed to the floor.
Perhaps there is a project Ben and The Gang can whip up similar to this neat little gizmo, that covers such concepts like: Path-finding sensors and logic, RC, proper motor control (H-bridges and electronics circuit protection), building a forklift or other method to fetch things around the shop that Ben or Felix might need, without leaving their workspaces.
Love the show! I watch every week, and look up back episodes in between! Always lots of fun.
