Hello.
I have an idea that I've had for a while now. I am a huge fan of home automation, but existing solutions cover automatic temperature control, automatic windows openning/closing etc. I wan't something cool instead.
Let's imagine a house, where there is no key lock, and all family members have ID-cards. In order to open the door, they would have to hold the card by the doorbell, and then press it. So it would require doorbell hack.
But...
That's not all. I want this card to be used around the house. With central server storing user account data. It could be connected to such devices like 'Coin operated game system', but instead of coins, we would use our ID cards.
I was also thinking about building home vending machine, to store soda and sweets, so it is out of reach of children. They would have their monthly permisions to but something from it. All their credits would be stored on ID cards, of course.
I would also love a series of episodes about simple DIY home automation, like integrating arduino-based temperature/hummidity sensors from each room, automatic lights etc.
Love your show!
