i need help or ideas on an audio signal splitter...... a 3 to 1 type i have 4 speakers but 3 different devices to hook up, 1 already has volume comtrol so im looking to build like a switch which would let the first device play regular but then when i switch it to the other device it will shut off the sound from the first device and let the 2nd device sound play thru the speakers but also control the volume for the second device......also the same for the third device
I would like more information on the project, please.
As an example of the visual, I have 2 thoughts in mind.
(1)
2 cd players with non-powered 4 channel outputs and one mixer/Amp combo that is powered with 4 speakers outputs.
All needing to be connected to speakers.
OR
(2)
2 guitars that need to be selectable, alongside a keyboard. All of wich needs to be patched out to 4 speakers.

Or am I totally off base? Please let me know where we are going with this.
