Most wall warts are 5V with 500 mA to 2.0 A. Your transformer would need a DC to DC converter which costs more than the previous wall warts.BTW, where did you get/buy this?

Apart from one Arduino board I know of, all others are 12v max input.
This supply is 24v and I doubt the adjustment allows it down to 12v.
You'd need a regulator on the output ....BUT more importantly.
This model is designed to be inside an enclosure as the mains connections are accessible.
Personally I'd go fnd myself a 5v/9v or even 12v plug pack to SAFELY play with your arduino.
Also for the future the Ben heck area isn't the only one on this website, there is arduino, power and a whole range.
