Custom Project

Hi, just wondering, if its possible to male, from scratch a dual-screen vita-like gaming console. Basically in the shape of a vita, but not truly a vita. I'm looking to make something I. That shape that is essentially a gaming laptop, in terms of speed and graphics processing.

*it's not an emulator*

I'm thinking I would need to buy a touch screen with a digitizer, a phone screen might work. The top screen would probably be more difficult to source, I assume.

Then I need to decide on analog stick, and what kind of potentiometer it's attached to.

Action Buttons and d-pad.

Left and right game triggers and their sensors

Shoulder buttons.

Graphics card.

Mother board that can handle it.

Cpu.

RAM

Media ports: hdmi and micro USB(unless there's a more durable port for the cable going into it, I don't have problem with the ports, but micro USB cables are always breaking on me, the cable connector get bent, but the port is fine).

Solid state hard drive, external storage,

False cart or variation of compact disk.

I would probably be trying to find a few broken Alienware Alpha R2's or something similar as well as a dual screen that you can add a touch screen to I know there is the 5.5inch vr screens that might do the trick just finding a touch to work with it but other then that I think the Pi3 would be ideal for testing purposes unless you can get your hands on something like the R2 or similar as you want it for more then just casual gaming I assume.  All depends on your level of building projects like this I would probably suggest making a pi3 portable system I know you can run dual screens on it with touch.  The main thing alot of boards are lacking is the graphics power.  As eGPU's will take up way too much room in my opinion but depending on the build power consumption.   So when it comes down to it finding a great single board with the best graphics option is probably ideal do a bit of digging should find which would work best for you.   Only other way would be to setup a external cloud based computer running steam or something to remote play higher end games or maybe just run the steam os on it as well....  I dunno lots of options and ideas more detail would be great on your project to give you a better guide of direction to lean.

Just a Dual screen portable laptop. Like barely 2x the size of the vita. Stripping a used alpha r2 sounds about right. Thank you very, ugh, I'll scour eBay to see what I can find.

As far as steam, I would ideally like to not limit it to steam releases, but yes, definitely not casual handheld or mobile games. I would like to ideally run ff14 storm blood and a few others on it. So I can play on the go, if I end up taking some vacations. As far as the second screen, being touch screen, I would like to use it for in game hot keys, or perhaps after proving the prototype see how far I can take and mod it.

There are other mmo besides ff14 I'm interested in. For providing this works great, but would love to, ax put the dual screen potential later on, like of a pc game needed a companion app, or used one it could use the search on-screen as more than programmable hot keys, but I would like to use it for hot keys and in game pins, virtual keyboard, etc. As well as partially interacting with the game, like a laptop that is touch screen, hosting the main game on a Normal screen, I know that makes it more value and may come off sarcastic, I don't intend that, rather the touch screen to serve as a quick access menu for in game command screens and purchase screens.

Sorry, I have no idea if I'm making this more clear or more confusing, it, as take some work, but a quick access command screen for games in general.

I would like to ideally parallels the screens with as little space between the expanded display as possible.
