Omega cat box flipper

I use these cat boxes:

Omega Paw Cat Litter Box | Litter Boxes | PetSmart

They come in 2 sizes and work by flipping the box upside down and back over to separate the poo from the litter. The litter gets sifted into an compartment in the side and the poo goes in the drawer for easy disposal. It would be nice if there were some sort of apparatus to push a button and have it flip automatically so I don't have to bend down and touch it. Being able to control speed and direction is a big plus too. An android app to control it remotely is a bigger plus.

Sounds like the project may need some lid latch sensors to prevent the flipping if they aren't secured. (Alternatively a mechanism to send the Roomba out...) Probably needs a cat occupancy sensor as well…

How about adding in something like one of these MiCS-6814 odour sensors to detect for the presence of ammonia gases and use it to either initiate a flip cycle and/or to alert the owner that things are…

As the box slowly gets turned upside down it sifts all the good little into a  compartment and all the poo and pee clumps fall into the drawer as it's turned right side up. The good little is also returned to the bottom of the box.

I've used one of these. They're fantastic. At least as long as all of the lid latches are secured, otherwise you get litter EVERYWHERE.

Probably needs a cat occupancy sensor as well so as it doesn't attempt to flip the cat.
