Remote dog shock collar

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

My friend has two dogs who are prone to getting in trouble when he is out. He has a camera so that he can watch them, and he also has shock (vibrating, actually) collars to get their attention. Inevitably, when we are out, he checks in on his dogs, sees that they are making a mess, and has to rush home to correct them. It would be cool if, when he sees on the cam that they are misbehaving, that he could remotely activate the shock collars!

I see this a lot (people commenting on very old threads). Perhaps Element14 should implement thread archiving. That is if a thread goes a certain amount of time with no new posts, it gets archived and…

lets see, lets attached a remote controlled device that is used to punish a animal and now make it controllable from great distances. You don't see any ways this could be a horrible idea? Any one who would do this should be forced to wear a shock collar for a week and be given random shocks. Shock collars are cruel devices and just because you think it is just vibrating its not its a electrical shock. What happens to the animals if god forbid the collars start continually punish the dog and not stop even tho your friend stop the punishment? What would happen if the collar increases the punishment level making each shock more powerful. Lets just forget this idea and suggest your friend seeks out a dog pysocolagist to help your friend out to find the reason for the dogs misbehavior.

Shock collars are on the shelves for a reason. If it was that bad of an idea, they wouldn't be on the shelves. Leave the criticism at home.

You do realise this is a 16 month old post you've just dredged up? I suspect both Mark and Bill have long since forgotten about this thread.....

I see this a lot (people commenting on very old threads).  Perhaps Element14 should implement thread archiving.  That is if a thread goes a certain amount of time with no new posts, it gets archived and you can search for it but no further posts can be added.  Dudley
