Turning wireless trackball mouse into a wired one

I have no need for wireless feature of the trackball mouse, there is no movement so I don't really mind the cable, plus the batteries are a constant problem. How could I change it into a wired one.

That could be (practically) near-impossible due to high level of integration inside the mouse. I don't think there is any usable USB interface inside there that you could connect to.

You'll likely need a regulator to get the right voltage, and you'll still need the wireless connection for the mouse functions, but it seems like this could be accomplished with relative ease.

This is a great answer. Its not what I hoped for, cause there is still a bulky device that connects to USB (see picture), but at least I can get rid of the batteries. Thank you!

You might be able to cram the guts of your receiver into your track ball housing.
