I would like to see a wind up gramophone (in suitcase) rebuild to play modern vinyl records. Old wind up gramophones only played at 78 rpm instead of the newer 33 rpm and the metal needle was good for shellac records in the ´30s but it would hurt vinyl records. I also read somewhere that the sound would not be loud enough.
My idea was to create a modern wind up record player for situations like power outage or off grid living. Maybe to add a battery or capacitor that gets charged when winding up and use it to power the electronics.
