Build suggestion: A pool table converted to a CNC Router

I don't know if that has been done already, or if it's even possible. I would however be interested to see it. Thank you.

Well if you guy the table use the frame its possible even to make a 3d printed machine to do the trick on that give a 6-8 inch drop would beef up the side rails for x and y just seems like too much wasted materials along the side of it tho. here is mine on a  old work bench actual cutting area is 2ft x 4ft but machine is bigger.  Second picture is of my original build tho much smaller.  For a pool table however incorporating a vacuum bed for dust and suction would be cool Maybe even some tool storage or a raspberry pi controlling it with a built in touch panel for cnc control since universal gcode sender works great on the pi wouldn't be a issue would be a cool idea if you had the space.  I would probably do something like that with a laser cutter tho for fun if I had a pool table kicking around. lol

I'm holding a cougar coin fed pool table for a family member in my shop,

they never got a place big enough for it. I've tried selling it and giving

it away no luck. I was just thinking maybe I can convert it to something

    that's actually useful.

Nice!, that would be a fun project.   Certainly doable that's for sure.

I kind of like both the rigs you built. As a router for my shop I don't need a hulking beast, just something serviceable and useful for smaller projects at home or for friends.

I admit, your ideas for it are sounding way more awesome than my original thoughts on the subject.

I imagine in able to get a vac system involved on the table would need me to remove the slate top. Or I was thinking of leaving the slate intact and using tubing hooked to the pockets as a means of suction for a spoil-board.

I don't think this would be a good idea imo however I would love to see a third console added to that colecovision/sega that you did ages ago. you did say you will probably add a third at a later date. :-)
