Automatic cereal and milk dispenser

Former Member

My idea is to have a machine that has an area for a bowl, and it has a couple of buttons that are labeled with different types of cereal, and when you click one of the buttons, it automatically dispenses a certain amount milk and that type of cereal into the bowl. I think the milk should stay cool while the machine is not in use, and should have many compartments for different types of cereal, while keeping a small design and nice looking exterior.

This can easily be done by slightly modifying an automatic pet feeder. A quick search can lead you to a design. You'll want to be able to have a fridge next to a cupboard and countertop. Ideally, you'll want to use a mini fridge. A pump connected to a tube that goes through the fridge and directly into a gallon of milk. You'll need to make sure when you drill into the fridge, not to hit any coils. Through the door might be the safest. You can seal around the tube using silicone caulking.

How would you resolve the problem with needing to clean out the milk dispensing tube in between uses? You wouldn't want milk residue to just sit in the tube, because it would spoil. You would need to have a flushing mechanism for cleaning out the milk dispenser after each use.

Cleanliness would depend on your final delivery system and final design.

For example. If you use an air pressure system, you can reverse pressure to put the remaining back into the container.

If you made it like the water dispenser on the door, you probably wouldn't need to cleanse it too often. As long as it's used regularly.

With a tube system, when you pick up your bowl of cereal, you can push a button for cleaning. Push the tube over the sink and flush.

Using a mini fridge, you can have it coming out the bottom. The fridge can be on it's own custom stand or shelf with the bowl sitting under. A peristaltic pump can keep pressure on the system if you don't want it exposed to air.
